Harvey Korman age 81 dies from complications of "from rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm." Harvey has a long history in the industry, but is best known for his 136 episodes on the Carol Burnett Show.

USA bid's adieu

For seven seasons our lovable obsessive compulsive Monk has been going to Dr. Charles Kroger, portrayed by Stanley Kamel. It's sad to report that April 8, 2008, Stanley Kamel passed away from a heart attack.

Did you watch the Grammy's?

I watched only some of the Grammy's. Why? My answer is actually two fold. First, I only watched some because I'm not big on Music Awards, so I didn't have a big interest in watching. Secondly, I did watch some because there was nothing else on TV. For me the highlights of the show contained Amy Winehouse cleaning up on the awards, the performance of LOVE and the very touching tribute song by Kanye West to his mother.

What about you? Did you watch? Did you have any favorite moments of the show?

Of course, I always enjoy watching the Dead People section of any award show. Does that make me sick? Sorry, but I love to pay my respects to all those who have been lost in the past year. Plus, it's always fascinating to see people you thought already passed away, but actually just died last year. Or those who you had fond memories of, but never heard of their passing you want to just go AAAWWWWW. While you may think it wrong of me; obviously, I'm not the only one who enjoys watching that segment or they would have removed it from the show. I think it's awesome that we pay tribute in our award shows to all those who helped pave the way in that industry.

I guess that concludes my take on last nights Grammy's.

Last night Roy Schieder passed away from Cancer at age 75. Roy was a brilliant actor and is most recognized for JAWS; while I fondly recall him for his show SeaQuest DSV. He started his long lived career in the earl 60's with a role on Edge of Night, but he was in or just completing production on some 2008 releases.

Anyone Else Wondering....

Is anyone else wondering why Mary-Kate Olsen in on the speed dial of Heath Ledger. Or better yet, why the maid and masseur called her instead of 911. I've been pondering these facts, as they they have been released by the media.

Now Heath and Mary-Kate are close in age. Even though when I think of her I still see little Michelle. She is, in fact, a beautiful young lady. It is possible they are friends, or maybe even, dating (remember he split from Michelle Williams in August 2007). It is possible they are just friendly neighbors. Hey, we should all have a neighbor on speed dial in case something happens. It's good to know people close by. Whatever, Heath and Mary Kate are to each other, why didn't Heath's staff, Mary Kate or her staff immediately call 911?

You think it's an easy thing. Someone found not breathing you immediately call 911. Actually, more people than you know freeze up and do other stupid stuff instead of calling 911. I think we are all better off to have a young child in the house in an emergency. They do what they are taught. The young child calls 911. Adults, they try to fix things, or do things, and freak out. Then they call 911. Unless, of course there was cover up.

Heath was reportedly having difficulty sleeping. It is possible this last role was so intense it disrupted his ability to relax. Heath was taking numerous medications. He could have had an allergic reaction. Maybe, his heart had a small undetected defect. Or it is possible that it was simply the young talented man's time.

TV Actress Dies At Age 70!

TV's beloved Suzanne Pleshette has passed away. In 2006, she had been diagnosed treated for lung cancer. She succumbed to respiratory failure on Saturday night.

Suzanne is probably best known for her long running show The Bob Newhart Show and the movies The Shaggy D.A. (the original) and The Birds. However her long running career commenced in 1957 and continued through 2004, and included titles, such as:

On Thursday January 17, 2008, Allan Melvin passed away at his home in Brentwood. Allan Melvin was 84 years old and was suffering from cancer.

You can tell by viewing the list that Allan was a huge voice over actor. He might have been one of the earliest voice over actors. His resume was impressive. Of course there are his most memorable roles, like The Brady Bunch, Gomer Pyle, All in the Family and Archie Bunkers Place; but then you also see his wide range of voice over gig's throughout the years in shows like CB Bears, Smurfs, Spiderman, Ducktales, and Pufnstuf. I never realized how many roles this talented man performed.

While Allan was a great actor his greatest role was that of husband for 64 years! Allan Melvin you will be missed!

Ike Turner Dead At 78

CNN reported today that music legend, Ike Turner is dead at 78.

I don't know if there are many people unaware of who Ike Turner is; either you were a fan of his music from the Ike and Tina Turner days, or you had a chance to see "What's Love Got To Do With It", Tina Turner's account of her years married to Ike, Ike was infamous.

I was managing a restaurant 10 years ago and had Ike as a customer. He was loud and brash, but clearly not the man he once was. He pulled out the 8x10 you see above, and autographed it: "What's love got to do with it, not a damn thing! Ike Turner", I thought that was amusing...especially since I didn't ask for the autograph.

I hope that Ike found some peace and happiness in his later years, I hope that for everyone.

CBS Executive Dies

Roger M. King died Saturday of a Stroke. He joined CBS in 2000.

King was known for helping people like Oprah, Dr. Phil, Vanna White, Pat Sajak and Alex Trebek.

You could say he was syndication guru with his family business King World known to us all.

Many people, like those name herein, have made public statements about how greatly this icon will be missed.

Kevin Dubrow, 52, found dead in his Las Vegas home over the Thanksgiving weekend. For anyone who doesn't know Kevin was the lead singer of Quiet Riot. The cause of death is still pending.
