This writer's strike is really hurting television don't you think? The writer's strike is the only reason I can think that the horrendous sexual harassment section in last night's episode of OneTree Hill was included; someone was definitely asleep at the switch.
If you've been watching the show since it reappeared a last week then you know we've fast forwarded four years into the future with the lovable Scooby Doo, um, I mean Tree Hill Gang. Brooke Davis is a snazzy clothing designer, Peyton is still trying to get that music thang and Lucas going, Barbie and Ken otherwise known as Haley and Nathan are troubled young marrieds and parents, Lucas is an author and the basketball coach of his former high school team and Mouth McFadden has landed a job in a television studio working for a woman who is the very definition of________(rhymes with hunt).
Mouth has always been an "also ran" among his friends, and now he must suffer the daily indignities of working for a woman who's very mission it is to make his life miserable. Over lunch with his roommate "Skills", Mouth laments that his boss hates him and details why he feels this way. Skills is quick to relate some sage anecdotal advice about a similar incident he experienced with a troublesome female boss; the reason of course is because there's sexual tension between the two and Mouth should avail himself of some "hot cougar love!"
The next day at Mouth's place of employment he is once again being dressed down by the female boss, and right in the middle of it he kisses her. Our little Mouth is a quick study alright, and his actions get him promptly fired. When Mouth comes to pickup his last paycheck, he gives the female boss a little speech aimed at salvaging his dignity, and well lookee here...Skills had it right...the boss jumps up and plants a big smooch on Mouth, WTF?
So what have we learned boys and girls? Here's how to succeed on the job, One Tree Hill style:
1)If a female boss has problems with a male subordinate it's because she's hot for him,
2)It is completely alright to force attentions on a woman, (Peyton's stalker notwithstanding)
3)Sexual harassment does not exist in Tree Hill so let the games begin.
Thank you , One Tree Hill for the "how to" on sexual harassment. Don't try this at home folks!
