Why is everyone wearing red today?

If you noticed your favorite newscasters, the reporters on CNN, and even your favorite talk show are all sporting some sort of red clothing today.

Today, Friday, February 1st is the American Heart Associations fifth annual National Wear Red Day. The American Heart Association explains why you should wear red today:

Too few people realize that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women (and men), but the good news is heart disease can often be prevented. Spreading the Go Red For Women message “Love Your Heart” raises awareness of heart disease and empowers women to reduce their risk.

Macy's is a proud sponsor of this event. Wearing red to Macy's today wins you an all day savings pass. Or you can make a donation to the American Heart Association at Macy's for special savings. All donations received will go to Go Red For Women movement.

Now, go home and grab your favorite red shirt and go back out in the world!
