Commercials I Love: Planters Superbowl Commercial

If I were in the matchmaking game I'd set this woman up with the guy from the Cox TV commercial. On second thought, she seems to be doing pretty well for herself. Necessity is the mother of invention!

Commercials I Love: Lizards And The Superbowl; SoBe Life Water

The Superbowl was just a bit ago and the hype is always that the Superbowl Commercials are great. In all honesty, I'm not a football fan so I did not have what it takes to sit through that thing, but I did catch some of the commercials. I've got to tell you, I was disappointed. The spots that I saw were not terribly interesting but then, I didn't see these two.

I saw the Sobe Life Water commercial a couple of days ago and loved it immediately. While I was on You Tube looking for a copy to share with you, I happened upon the "prequel" for the Life Water commercial and it was even more of a hoot. Without further adieu, the SoBe Life Water commercials.

Commercials I Love: Jack In The Box, Yard Sale

Have you ever been to a Yard or Garage Sale? Better yet, have you ever HAD a Yard or Garage Sale? Well, I'm having one this Sunday and I may be feeling Jack's pain; people seem to want to give you "$12 for the pony" when he's won the derby.

This Jack in the Box commercial is one I love, enjoy! Wish me luck this Sunday.

Commercials I Love: Jeep Liberty

You have just got to love a commercial that is more like a PSA; at least I do. The message that this Jeep Liberty commercial provides is twofold:
1) Music has the power to unite us all; even save lives and,
2) People who drive Jeep Liberty SUV's (is that an SUV?) are so crazy that even a car full of singing animals does not perturb them. What are they like on the road...especially in the lane next to you?

Commercials I Love: Viva Viagra

This commercial is somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me, whenever I see it I feel like doing a Dr. Phil impression; "let's get real!"

The first time I saw this spot I thought: Elvis must be spinning in his grave. I later read a tabloid that said Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley were the ones spinning; Elvis didn't write the song so they did not have the rights and were unable to block "Viva Las Vegas" from being used to pitch erectile dysfunction medication.

I worked for a urologist once and I can tell you that none of the patients had so much as a smile regarding ED; much less a jam session with their buddies where they're singing about a medication to alleviate it.

Commercials I Love: Free Credit Report

Here in the U.S. there's a huge problem with identity theft. I can't attest to other countries, maybe they're similarly afflicted, but in the U.S. identity theft is an industry unto itself.

This fairly new commercial from Freecreditreport.com illustrates in a humorous way one of the many horrible things that can result from having your identity stolen.

Since you can get a free report every year from all three credit reporting bureaus, it does a pretty good job of driving home the message that you should stay on top of what's on your report.

Commercials I Love: Cox Digital Telephone

If you don't have Cox Cable in your area you may not have been exposed to this commercial for their digital telephone services. I see this spot about 3-4 times a day and I never get tired of it.

The gentleman in the spot just kills me; he is so much the guy that young women see coming towards them in the club and become immediately engrossed in conversations with their girlfriends or begin to study the contents of their drink. He's just not cool...but I have to say he's charming as heck!

Commercials I Love: The Magic Of Macy's

Because I spend many hours a day watching television, I have the privilege of enjoying many, many, commercials. You probably recognize that for the facetious statement that was; at least the enjoying part.

Commercials are a necessary evil of our television viewing, after all the bills have to be paid; all I require is the commercial be entertaining. Macy's ad campaign for the holiday season, "The Magic of Macy's" is just that, an entertaining bit of fluff that pulls together luminaries from several different genres and unites them for the commercialism that is Christmas.

The spot I love is "Evening" and features Donald Trump, Emeril, Tyler Florence, Martha Stewart, Russell Simmons, Kimora Lee Simmons, Usher, Tommy Hilfiger, P Diddy, Kenneth Cole, Jessica Simpson and Marc Ecko working to decorate the store in one night.

The reason I enjoy this spot so much is it's the very picture of diversity in consumerism; it's equal opportunity appeal to the pocket is charming to me. Macy's has delivered the ultimate message of unity: when it comes to holiday sales, we are all one.
